Kim Rhode Leaves London in Record Fashion
Kim Rhode snags her fifth career Olympic medal (3 double trap, 2 skeet) in the Women’s Skeet competition at the 2012 London Games earning GOLD with a record effort. She set an Olympic record in the qualifying round with a score of 74/75 and tied a World record with a final round score of 25/25. Leaving the competition connecting on 99 out of 100 shots, which also ties a World record and is the new standard for the Olympics. Rhode also becomes the first American to medal in five straight Olympics (’96 Gold, ’00 Bronze, ’04 Gold, ’08 Silver, ’12 Gold).

Young Gun Vincent Hancock Break Own Olympic Record to Defend Gold
23 year old Vincent Hancock set an Olympic record hitting on 148 shots out of 150 in London to defend his 2008 Olympic title. Hancock was the youngest competitor in the field by five years, and becomes the first Skeet shooter to win two Olympic gold medals.
Jamie Gray Out Shoots Record Book for Gold

Jamie Gray established two Olympic records in the 50m 3-Position Rifle on her way to a gold medal at the 2012 London Games. She set the record for qualifying round with a score of 592 points and a final score record of 691.1 points with a 10.8 out of 10.9 on her final shot. The 3-Position Rifle competition consists of 20 shots in standing, kneeling, and prone positions. Grey’s gold brings USA’s total shooting golds to three which marks only the second such occurrence since WWII.
Matt Emmons Brings USA Fourth Shooting Medal
In the Men’s 50m 3-Position Rifle Matt Emmons earned himself a Bronze medal. The Bronze rounds out his collection giving him a Gold in ’04 and a Silver in ’08 in the 50m Rifle Prone. Emmons finished just 1.2 points out of Silver but held on by .3 to win Bronze.
